Tour 3: Inspiration Tour
Duration: 9 days
In short: Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake – Penjakent – Seven lakes – Penjakent – Dushanbe – Khoburubot – Kalai Khum – Dushanbe – Norak – Dushanbe
Day 1: Dushanbe
Driver will meet you and accompany to Dushanbe. Whole day will be spent to a guided city tour. You will visit the most famous places of the city such as Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then we will walk in National park to take photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world with the sizes 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. You will visit to Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. To feel real life you should visit Asian bazar. It has colorful goods, fruits and vegetables. You are going to see the main attractions and interesting facts of the city. Night is in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake
Your next destination is the alpine lake – Iskanderkul with the altitude 2 255 m. a. s. l. It is located on the famous Fann Mountains. This area is the most gorgeous in Central Asia. The road goes through Anzob Pass with the altitude of 3 372 m where you can enjoy incredible panoramic view. You will have a walk along it beaches; this is the best place for a rest. Also we will hike 40 minutes to see a waterfall. Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources. The highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries in Tajikistan it has more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Night is in a homestay.
Day 3: Iskanderkul Lake – Penjakent
Morning drive to Penjakent also known as "five villages". It is located Khujand area of Tajikistan in Zeravshan river valley. There is a high possibility that the five villages began its history of this amazing city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. At that time it was one of the most cultural and crafting center of Sogd. It had another name - "Central Asian Pompeii". It was amazingly fortified well-organized city with a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with numerous paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. These remains were found in last century. Today you can see the ruins of houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshipers church. Overnight is in hotel.
Day 4: Penjakent – Seven lakes – Penjakent
Today you will visit Fann Mountains that are considered to be one of the famous hiking area in Central Asia. You will have day trip to Seven Lakes. It is situated about 60 km south of Panjakent. You will have not very long hiking through the gorge to see Seven Lakes. All Lakes are situated on the different elevation and have different color. You will meet local people that live at that area. It will be very interesting to see their way of life. After hiking we will come back to hotel.
Day 5: Penjakent – Dushanbe
You will return to Dushanbe. It is relatively young city the name of which means “Monday”. Dushanbe is the capital of Tajikistan and of course, the economic and political center which was able to maintain the atmosphere of a real Asian city. Behind the modern facades you will find cafes serving plov (pilaf) and tea. Overnight is in hotel.
Day 6: Dushanbe – Khoburubot – Kalai Khum
Morning drive to Kalai Khum village via mountain road, that goes through the Khoburubot Pass (3 252) well-known as Western Pamir Tract. On the way you will enjoy the most beautiful river valley and amazing gorges in the landscape, where we can stop for rest and shoot photos of the nature. Also you will be able to meet locals and learn about their lifestyle and hospitability. People here greatly respect their traditions and folklore. Those who love new things, curious about the ethnic and cultural diversity and captivated by the beauty of wild nature will greatly enjoy this tour. Dinner will be in a local restaurant. Night is in a home stay.
Day 7: Kalai Khum – Khoburubot – Dushanbe
In the morning transfer to Dushanbe. You will have the same as you had before. Many centuries, the Pamirs had and have influence on the world’s greatest explorers – Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. Now you also have a chance to travel here. Having visited the Pamir Mountains, many travelers called this giant mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. Night is in a hotel.
Day 8: Dushanbe – Norak – Dushanbe
Drive to Norak city where Norak water reservoir is situated. This reservoir has another name –Tajik Sea. Norak is situated in the Khatlon province of Tajikistan, on the Vakhsh River, 885 m above sea level, and is 70 km southeast of the capital, with the population of 19,000. To this city you will drive over Chormahzak and Shar – Shar passes including the tunnels. This city was built on the former village of Nurek - «pomegranate» in Tajik language. As the modern city it was established in 1960 to support the construction of nearby Nurek Dam, which was completed in 1980. This Dam is the highest in the world – 300 m. The Dam is situated in a deep gorge along the Vakhsh River in western Tajikistan. You will have photo stops to make a lot of pictures. After it going back to Dushanbe. Overnight is in hotel.
Day 9: Dushanbe – Airport
In the morning is transfer to airport.
