Tour 8: Sary Chelek Lake and Arslanbob walnut forest tour
Duration: 6 days
In short: Bishkek – Toktogul – Sary Chelek – Arslanbob – Osh

Day 1: Bishkek
Your driver will meet you at the airport and take to Bishkek city. The entire day is devoted to explore the capital city. It is situated in the foothills of Kyrgyz Ala Too range, which provides snow-capped mountain background to the city. Start city tour from Pobeda Square, which was built for the honor of victory over fascism. The oldest park of the city Oak Park, then walk on the street gallery of painters to Central Square. Later you will have detailed excursion in the National Museum of Arts. It will give interesting information about Kyrgyz applied art. Afternoon,you will visit fast-moving, picturesque Asian Bazaar. In Bazaar, you can buy everything from handmade traditional crafts to fresh and dried fruits. Night in a hotel.

Day 2: Bishkek – Toktogul
Today is the most enjoyable travel to the south of Kyrgyzstan. We will go to the biggest water reservoir Toktogul. It is located in the south part of the country. The way goes via high mountain passes and wonderful valleys. En route, there will be many pastures, where Kyrgyz people continue having nomadic lifestyle. In summertime, they live in yurts; it is traditional collapsible dwellings made from wooden carcass and thick felt coverage. The unique fact about yurt is thet it made without any single metal nails. Kyrgyz people are warm-hearted and hospitable by the nature, if you will meet on the highland they always offer to have tea or just taste some bread. Night in a guesthouse.

Day 3: Toktogul – Sary Chelek
Another fantastic drive to Sary Chelek Lake. It is the fascinating mountain lake in the foothills Chatkal mountain range. The territory of the Sary Chelek is protected under the National reserve. Because of the diverse flora and fauna, there are 300 species of plants, 32 species of trees, 80 types of bushes, 38 species of animals and 157 species of birds. It is pure treasure of the nature which you will see during your tour. The altitude of the lake is 1 873 m. and the size is 234m deep, 2,280m wide and 7,500m long. It was created in the result of earthquake. Majestic mountains and evergreen trees mirrored on the surface of the water. If you will feel lucky to find yourself in springtime, you will see patchwork of different tulips everywhere. Stay in a homestay in Arkyt village.

Day 4: Sary Chelek – Arslanbob
Continue your adventure to the largest natural walnut forest– Arslanbob. Every year it gives 1500 tons of walnut. It is only natural forest with this amount of harvest in the world that many travelers adore. The area of the forest is 11 000 hectares. In Kyrgyzstan, it known as a “Royal Wood of Kyrgyzstan”. It is believed that ancient time, especially when Silk Road was developed, the nuts from this area was taken to other parts of the world. After arrival, you will have short tour in the forest and to small waterfall, where many local come to have rest. Dinner and night in a homestay.

Day 5: Arslanbob – Osh
In the morning, drive to Osh city, which is the second largest city of the country. On the way, in Djalal Abad, visit archeological and architectural complex of Uzgen. It is remains of the old city of Karahanids during 11th century. The complex consist of several mausoleums and one minaret, beautifully decorated in brick art. After arrival to Osh, visit the holy Suleiman Mountain. According to the legend, Suleiman Too is famous as a Solomon’s Mountains. In the legend, the body of the Suleiman Prophet was buried at the foothills of mountain. Nowadays, it is the popular place of worship for Muslim. Night in a hotel.

Day 6: Flight
Today is the last day in Kyrgyzstan, after breakfast transfer to airport.
