Tour 9: Kyrgyz mountains in winter
Duration: 7 days
In short: Bishkek − Ala Archa − Burana – Naryn – 33 parrots Pass – Kochkor – Issyk Kul southern shore – Barskoon – Jeti Oguz – Karakol – Issyk Kul Lake northern shore – Chon Kemin

Day 1: Bishkek – Ala Archa – Bishkek
In winter tours with our company you will get new experiences. Meet the driver at Manas International Airport and transfer to capital. Guided tour of Bishkek. Visit Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala Too Square, Old Square, National Philharmonic and so on. In the afternoon we will visit Ala Archa gorge. It is a Natural Park and located on a spur of the Tien Shan mountain range. It is just 45 km from Bishkek. Have a short hiking tour to see a panoramic view of the gorge. Afterwards we will return to Bishkek. Overnight is in a hotel. 

Day 2: Bishkek – Burana – Naryn
Visit Burana Tower found in the 11th century minaret as well as an open-air museum of Balbals (stone warriors). The next destination is driving to Kochkor village and meet a local family. You will be shown how our national felt carpets are made. Then we will visit a small handicraft museum there and find out silver decorations, coats made of wolves, horse saddle decorations, carpets and more. Driving to Naryn town we will drive over mountain pass (3000 m). Night is in a hotel. 

Day 3: Naryn – 33 parrots Pass – Kochkor
Our winter tour will start by driving to the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan – Son Kul Lake via 33 parrots pass (3 133 m). This lake is enclosed by mountains and it is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan, sited at an altitude of 3013 meters above sea level. Nomads used to visit this pleasing area with their families for rest as well as use it as a pastureland. Drive to the village of Kochkor. Overnight is in a home stay. 

Day 4: Kochkor – Issyk Kul southern shore – Barskoon – Jeti Oguz – Karakol
This tour will start by driving to Barskoon gorge. Barskoon gorge is situated on the southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake and well known for heavenly mountains and the monument to Yuri Gagarin. Visit Jeti Oguz gorge with red rocks formations. It is also called Seven Bulls with the Broken Heart Mountain. Capture many interesting photos and hike 20 minutes in order to see a panorama view of the gorge! Then we continue our way to Karakol town where we can get acquainted with the Dungan mosque with Chinese style. It was built without nails. See an old wooden Orthodox Church. Night is in a hotel.

Day 5: Karakol – Issyk Kul Lake northern shore – Chon Kemin
Our Kyrgyz winter tour continue visiting Issyk Kul Lake. Everyone will pass along the northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake and see the whole lake. It is the biggest mountain lake in Central Asia with possibility to swim. Afterwards we will visit a small local museum that has examples of handicraft, music instruments and a lot of artifacts. In the end of day you will have a home stay in Chon Kemin village.

Day 6: Chon Kemin – Bishkek
Talking of Chon Kemin village it is a national park with a lot of remarkable mountain views. See countryside regions persist charmingly unspoiled and rich in culture whereas the capital is moderately developed. Tourism is still in its beginning and enormous areas are essentially untouched by far-off sightseers. Today you will have 3 hours of horse riding where you can ride along stunning gorges and mountain forest. On the top you will see outstanding panorama view of the gorge. We will drive to Bishkek. Transfer to a hotel.

Day 7: Bishkek – Airport
In the morning is transfer to airport. Winter tours in Kyrgyzstan were perfect!  


Winter tourism in Kyrgyzstan are appreciated by most people. It is the best season for ski resorts. We have one of the best ski resorts in Chui valley and Issyk Kul region, specifically in Karakol, as one of the most popular in Central Asia.

The nature in Kyrgyzstan is stunning in all four seasons due to the environmental position of the country in the hilly area. Some of the roads are closed, there are still many striking places obtainable in winter in Kyrgyzstan.

Our travelers will have round tour around the renowned Issyk Kul lake. It is the largest one in Central Asia laying at the altitude of 1, 600 meters. We will visit the most ancient stone artifacts at the shore of the lake near Cholpon Ata, which is an astonishing outside museum found in the second millennium BC. In addition, you will have an opportunity to visit the famous Jeti Oguz gorge with Broken Heart mountain. The winter path will amaze you by eagle hunting from the first hands and get acquainted with hunters of Kyrgyzstan. Learn more about culture, traditions and handicraft in Kochkor village. Being there you can see women who produce national carpets and other products whose goal is to care local communities. We will ride horses among white mountain slopes of Chon Kemin gorge, relish the friendliness of local host family and try lovely Kyrgyz national foods. Visit Naryn region to see the stunning Tien Shan mountains with boundless gorges, valleys and rivers. Winter tours are really inspiring!
