Tour 6: Caravan Route
Duration: 7 days
In short: Bishkek – Chunkurchak – Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin – Issyk Kul lake northern shore – Karakol – Jeti Oguz – Issyk Kul southern shore – Tamga – Kichi Naryn – Naryn – Tash Rabat – Torugart border

Day 1: Bishkek – Chunkurchak – Bishkek
Upon arrival, your guide will welcome you at the airport and transfer to capital city, which is 30 minutes’ drive. Before lunch, you will have a tour to explore the young but culturally rich city Bishkek. Sightseeing takes you to travel to the main attractive places: start from Pobeda Square (Victory Square), walk in oldest park -Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square surrounded by marble faced buildings, Old Square, where there is huge statue to Lenin, and in the end beautiful National Philharmonic. In the afternoon, depart to Chunkurchak Gorge. It is small but magnificent gorge of Kyrgyz Ala Too range, one of the beautiful ranges in Kyrgyzstan, which is over 4800 meters. From local language, Chunkurchak means “hollow”. Due to the rare species of mountain tulips, the Chunkurchak gorge is under the National Biological Reserve. In May and April, you will be surprised by the different kind of flowers on the lush meadowland. There is also a ski resort, where many people come to ski in winter. Moreover, it has recreational summer hotels. This gorge leads to Takhr Gorge, where the 200 m (656 f) rock facing to the Alamedin River. In the evening, transfer to Bishkek. Night in a hotel.

Day 2: Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin
In the morning, travel to Chong Kemin Valley, it is one of the wonderful valley in Kyrgyzstan that you will visit during your tour. En route, have an excursion to archeological site Burana Tower, the remains of capital of Karakanid State during 11-12th centuries. There is an interesting collection of ancient gravestones, which is called Balbals. They are shaped like human beings. After climbing to the top of Burana and having panorama of Chui Valley, drive to Chong Kemin. Have a lunch in friendly family house. Then, you will enjoy 3-hours of horse riding in the magnificent mountains. During riding, you can have great view of the valley and some parts goes through fir tree forest. In the evening, enjoy homemade dinner and night in a homestay.

Day 3: Chon Kemin – Issyk Kul lake northern shore – Karakol
Today transfer to magnificent Issyk Kul Lake, it is the second largest mountain lake in the world. It lies at the altitude of 1608m between legendary Mountains of Tien Shan. There are about seventy big and small streams flow into the lake and no one flow out which you will learn during your tours.  For about 1500 years, the lake was considered as a holy and nobody swim and fish. Nowadays, it is very popular resort area for holidaymakers from CIS countries. En route, you will visit large collection of rock paintings-“petroglyphs”, which is dating back to Saka-Scythian period. Continue to Karakol town, the administrative center of Issyk Kul district, one of the regions in Kyrgyzstan. Sightseeing in Karakol will include architectural heritages of late 19th century. The first will be Dungan Mosque, the unique artwork constructed without any metal nails. Then Russian Orthodox Church, which was used for different purpose during the soviet time. End of travel for today. Night in a hotel. 

Day 4: Karakol – Jeti Oguz – Issyk Kul southern shore – Tamga 
Today drive along the beautiful southern shore of the lake. It is the blessed part of Issyk Kul with its untouched beaches and gorges. We will visit ounstanding Jety-Oguz Gorge, famous for its red rock formations  like Seven Bulls and Broken Heart Mountain. There are extraordinary monuments of nature. In order to have best view climb to hill and shoot some pictures during your travel. Then continue to Valley of Flower. Your tour will go by the road through the narrow gorge and many bridges takes to a valley of nomadic yurts, which is a traditional collapsible dwelling used even nowadays in Kyrgyzstan. Here Kyrgyz people make their favorite traditional drink Kymyz. It is made of fermented mare’s milk and has small percentage of alcohol. Arrive to Tamga village. Night in a guesthouse.

Day 5: Tamga – Kichi Naryn – Naryn
Today you will drive through magnificent mountains roads to Naryn city to continue your tour. it will be less populated, untouched area of Kichi Naryn Gorge. On the way, you will see nomadic people grazing their cattle on meadow, abundant in Kyrgyzstan. You will drive over Jalpak Pass reaching 3000 m and have great panoramic view, where you will feel yourself touching the clouds. Today you see real mountainous Kyrgyzstan, which makes it popular destination during your travel. En route, before go to mountains, we will have an opportunity to visit eagle hunter’s home. Hunting with an eagle is one of the traditional ways of nomadic hunting. Here you will listen the process of hunting and even training of eagles. Arrive to Naryn and rest in a guesthouse.

Day 6: Naryn – Tash Rabat
Today you will travel to Tash Rabat Caravanserai during your tour, which was the stopping point on the Silk Road. This extraordinary construction dating back to 14th century. Tash Rabat is situated in the arms of Tien Shan Mountains at the altitude of 3200m. It was constructed from blocks of rocks and some part of the building goes into the mountain hill. The walls are very thick reaching 1 m in width.  There are 31 room and some of them with domes. Dinner and night will be in yurt close to caravanserai.

Day 7: Tash Rabat – Torugart border
After breakfast, drive to Kyrgyz-Chinese border Torugart and continue your adventure in China.
