Tour 8: Spectacular lakes of Kazakhstan
Duration: 4 days
In short: Almaty – Kaindy – Kolsai – Charyn – Kegen border    

Day 1: Almaty  
After arrival, start Almaty city tour, southern capital of Kazakhstan. Almaty is culturally and historically diverse country. Explore starting from Green Bazaar, where polite and kind sellers offer to taste their juicy fruits. Later continue sightseeing to the central park –Panfilov Park. In the center of the park, you will come across the most fascinating wooden building of Zenkov Orthodox Cathedral. This colorful monument of late 19^th century will charm. Following the cultural and business areas of the city, we will travel up to Medeo Gorge. There is an outdoor skating rink Medeo, which is considered to be the highest in all over the world. Later you will go on to the Kok-tobe hill. It opens panoramic view to all parts of the city. In the top of the hill there are TV tower (believed to be the highest above the see level in the world), several interesting monuments including monument to legendary Beatles, and many small boutiques with national souvenirs. On the way back, you will sit on the cable car to the city. Stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Almaty – Kaindy   
In the morning, start your adventurous tour to picturesque Kolsai Lakes. In order to reach this beautiful area, we will travel about 300 km from Almaty village. Long but enjoyable drive will be full in interesting stops like local market at the on rural village. The overnight settlement will be Saty village, where you will stay for next 2 nights. Here you will have another car to drive to Kaindy Lake. It will be Russian cars like “UAZ” or “PAZ”, it is comfortable for driving on the mountain way. Kaindy in translation means ‘birch’, it is located among the amazing mountain forest at the altitude of 2000 meters above the sea level. The origin of the lake goes to 1911, when the earthquake has happened. In the result, the landslide cascaded and made natural dam blocking the water going down. Now it turned into the magnificent mountain lake. After having enjoyed incredible beauty, you will return to guesthouse in Saty.

Day 3: Kaindy – Kolsai          
Famous Kolsai Lakes are known as "Pearls of the Northern Tien-Shan", popular in Kazakhstan. It includes the three beautiful lakes on cascade level. The first and largest lake is available by everyone. It is a heavenly place for escaping from busy cities and enjoy gathering mushrooms. The river hosts the special kind of fish-mountain trout. The area also rich in both flora and fauna, you can see marals, mountain goats, wolves and even bears. After arriving to Kolsai-I, you will start hiking after short briefing. The path to the Kolsai-II goes through the thick pine trees, white mountain river and lush alpine meadow. The approximate distance between lakes is 7 km. Usually the healthy and average-trained person can do one way in 3-3,5 hours. The elevation drop is about 400 m, it is from 1818 m to 2250 m above the sea level. After this trek, you will be honored by picnic with the view of snow-caped mountains mirrored on the magnificent lake. Afternoon, come back to first lake and return to Saty village for overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 4: Kolsai – Charyn – Kegen border  
After early breakfast, sit on comfortable car or minivan and start your tours to famous Charyn Canyon. It is about 2 hours’ drive from Saty village. En route, there is an interesting museum of traditional decorative and applied arts and crafts. Here you will learn many interesting facts aboy Kazakh people.  The lunch will be at the local restaurant. When you will arrive to the canyon, it will surprise you by its massive size and magical beauty. There is a path going down, which leads you to the most famous part Castle of Valleys. Near the river there is a camp of yurts and summer café. It really looks like grand castle. After exploring extraordinary monument of the nature.
