Hi, friends!

My name is Cholpon. I grew up in a small town of Naryn in the south-eastern part of Kyrgyzstan. From the early ages my passion was to travel and discover new places. I enjoyed showing around to my friends and teachers who came from abroad to teach English. Further I entered the University to study linguistics but to connect my life with tourism it was not enough. Therefore I went through special courses of guiding by local mentors in Bishkek who run tourist agencies. This is how I got involved into this world of adventures and new experiences.

Tour 4: Sufism tour
Duration:  5 days
Places to visit: Chernyaevka border – Shymkent – Turkestan – Almaty – Issyk Lake – Almaty

Day 1: Chernyaevka – Shymkent  
You will meet your driver at the Chernyaevka border and depart to Shymkent and start travelling in Kazakhstan. Sightseeing in Shymkent will include Walk of Fame (park named after Sh.Kaldayakov), “Zher Ana” monument, Ordabasy square, Park “20 years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, Museum of Victims of Political Repression (30 minutes), Obelisk of Glory, Eternal Flame to the fallen in The great Patriotic War, Walk of Fame, Arboretum (stop for 20 minutes), Regional Museum (40-60 minutes). After city tour, check in to hotel.

Day 2: Shymkent – Turkestan
In the morning, you will travel to Shaulder settlement in Otrar region. Here you will explore Local History Museum "Otyrar" and archaeological site of the ancient settlement of Otrar, Arystan-Bab Mausoleum. Otrar was one of the stop-off points on the Great Silk Road connecting Eastern Europe to China. It dating back to 4th century BC. Later you will drive to Turkestan city. Its history started in 500 AD at the confluence of trade routes from Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva to northern Kazakhstan. During XVI-XVIII centuries, it was religious and political center of Turkic world.  Worshipers believe that three trips to Turkestan is same as the small Hajj to Mecca. Later it became the capital of the Kazakh Khanate. In Turkestan, you will visit many places of interest like Azret-Sultan" historical and architectural complex, Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, Turkestan ancient settlement, Necropolis, a fragment of the fortress wall, Citadel with gates, Hammam and Hilvet underground mosque. After interesting tours, drive back to hotel.

Day 3: Turkestan – Shymkent – Almaty
After breakfast, take Turkestan-Almaty flight to continue your tour in Kazakhstan. You will start exploring form Almaty Museum. Then have a look at Abai Opera and Ballet Theatre. Further, you will visit the oldest park of the city- Panfilov Park. There many monuments dedicated to the glory of the ones who participated in World War II. There are Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame. Furthermore, there is a magnificent building of Zenkov Cathedral in the middle of the park.  You will have an opportunity to listen to the story of the city and park from your guide that travelers find very interesting. Later, you will have a tour to Museum of Musical Instruments. Next point to see is popular Green Bazaar, where you can find different kind of things. In the end of the tour, you will relax on the Kok-Tobe Hill. It offers the great panorama of the whole city. On the way back, you can ride famous Almaty cableway to the center of the city.

Day 4: Almaty – Issyk Lake – Almaty
Today you will explore the outskirts of Almaty. In the morning, drive to Medeu Gorge (1 690), for a mountain tour, where the highest mountain skating rink is located. Here you will have opportunity to have a short walk and breathe in fresh mountain air. Then you will take a cable car to the ski resort Shymbulak. After picturesque ride, continue to charming gorge of Trans-Ili Alatau. Issyk Gorge is located on the Kuldja tract. Centuries ago, the place were full of caravans from East and West, travelling on the Silk Road. En route, we will be able to visit the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “ISSYK”, here you can see the large permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of the Saka-Scythian tribe. Moreover, there is a copy of the famous Golden Man and many other artefacts like ancient ceramics, weapon, elements of horse equipment, as well as the model of the burial mound belongs to Saka tribe. Further, you will go along the gorge to the Issyk lake, which is located at the altitude of 1756 m. Here you will relax at the brilliantly blue colored lake and enjoy birds singing around. After picnic, drive back to the city to complete your tour in Kazakhstan. Overnight will be in a hotel.

Day 5: Flight
In the morning, checkout from hotel and transfer to the Almaty International Airport.
