Tour 2: Sacred Tour
Duration: 8 days
In short: Tashkent – Khiva – Bukhara – Shahrisabs – Samarkand – Tashkent
Day 1: Tashkent
On arrival at Tashkent international airport you will be met by the driver who accompanies you to Tashkent city. The tour is dedicated visiting the Independence square which is considered to be a symbol of victory over fascism in World War II. After that we will visit the local Broadway, situated between Independence square and Amir Timur square. Drive to the famous Tashkent metro opened in 1977. Later on you will have the opportunity to visit old parts of the city as Chorsu Bazaar, Kukaldash Madrasah and Hast Imam complex consisting of several madrasahs, mosques and mausoleum. It is important to note that there is the unique Othman Quran must be seen by all travellers who decided to travel in Uzbekistan. It is considered to be the world’s oldest Quran copy found in the 8th century. The night will be spent in the hotel.
Day 2: Tashkent – Urgench – Khiva (morning flight)
Today in the morning you will have the flight to Urgench and then transfer to Khiva. We are glad to present the tour of visiting the oldest city of Uzbekistan. You will walk around Ichan-Qala, the inner city in Khiva with sturdy walls. Visit old sound buildings, palaces, mosques, Madrasahs, Mausoleums, Minarets, Caravan-Sarais and Bathhouses transformed Ichan-Qala into wonderful city-monument. Being in Ichan-Qala you will find over 400 traditional dwelling houses and 60 architectural monuments. Since 1969 Ichan-Qala is considered to be a historical and architectural conservation area. Don’t miss to visit the beautiful site as Kunya-Ark fortress (17th century), found by Muhammad Arang Khan. Moving on you will find Kalta Minor minaret and Tash Khouvli palace. They are impressive sample of Khorezm architectural mastership of 1830s. Overnight will be spent in the hotel.
Day 3: Khiva – Bukhara
The tour will start by driving to Bukhara city. You will have the opportunity to see more than 140 architectural monuments found in the middle Ages. Walk around narrow streets, green parks and gardens as well as historical and architectural monuments belong to different epochs and close to each other. You will pass by the road from Khiva to Bukhara goes through well-known Kizilkum desert. There is a beautiful view of Amu Darya river, the deepest river in Central Asia, formed by the confluence of the Panj and Vakhsh in Tajikistan and flowing into Aral Sea. On arrival in Bukhara, you will have the break. Today you will have the night in a hotel.
Day 4: Bukhara
We are glad to present the city tour. It is the best idea of visiting the most ancient citadel in Bukhara - Citadel Ark, found in the 4th century. The Citadel Ark connected different kind of dynasties of Bukhara Empire. After that visit the Samanids mausoleum! It is masterpiece of 9th -10th centuries. The tour will be continued to Chashma Ayub or Job's well and Bolo-Hauz mosque where you can find the mosque of forty columns built in honor of Bukhara governor Abu-Fayud Khan. Walk along the shops and see the most famous madrasahs of Bukhara called Nodir Divan Begi belonging to Lyabi House Ensemble. Later on you will have the chance to visit Poi Kalon complex, consisting of three structures built in the 12th - 16th centuries as Kalon minaret, Kalon mosque and Mir Arab Madrasah. The night is in a hotel.
Day 5: Bukhara – Shahrisabs – Samarkand
After having a hearty breakfast you will have the chance to visit the birthplace of Amir Timur, the town of Shahrisabs. The day will start by a sightseeing tour. We are glad to present the place as Ak Saray Palace, built by Amir Timur. We have no doubt you will be impressed by its uniqueness. In addition you will see the note written on the main portal of the Palace: "If you want to know about our power, look at our buildings". After that you will see Jahongir mausoleum which is dedicated to the eldest son of Amir Timur. He died in battle in twenty years old. After his son’s death, the ruler’s grief longed for 30 years. Visit sites as Shahrisabs, the Dorus Siadat and Dorus Tillavat memorial complexes. All of them belonged to Amir Timur. Afterwards you will drive to Samarkand. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 6: Samarkand
Today you will have the city tour in Samarkand. The city is considered to be the second largest city of Uzbekistan the same as Babylon or Rome and situated in the Valley of Zerafshan River. Visit unique sights as Registan square, Shakhi-Zindeh, Mausoleum Guri Emir and Bibi Khanum Mosque. Registan Square is an amazing complex consisting of three Madrasahs, found in the 15th - 17th centuries. We have no doubt you will like this special highlight of Samarkand. Talking about Shakhi-Zindeh you will see a big collection of mausoleums found in the 11th-15 centuries. They belong to UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bibi Khanum Mosque is dedicated to the favorite Tamerlane’s wife, when he came from successful deal in India. The night will be spent in the hotel.
Day 7: Samarkand – Tashkent
We will continue to explore Samarkand city. Start from the Ulughbek observatory which was built in the 15th century by Ulughbek. He was one of the most famous Samarkand rulers and scientists. When he was working in observatory, he created the “Zidji Guragoni” catalog in 1437, which included information about 1018 celestial bodies. Later on he was killed by order of his own son. After that you will have the time to walk around the local Broadway full of shops, teahouses, sweets and workshops. Visit the famous National bazaar Siab. It is oriental bazaar, where you can find Uzbek traditional handmade products and local sweets. There are carpet factory made by over 400 women with special traditional techniques. In the evening you will transfer to Tashkent by train. We are sure you will like these tours! Overnight is in a hotel.
