Tour 2: Tour to Pamir
Duration: 7 days
In short: Dushanbe – Khoburubot – Kalai Khum – Khorog – Kalai Khum – Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
Day 1: Dushanbe
After your arrival you will drive to Dushanbe. You will have city tour there for entire day to see: Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then you will go to National park to take photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world. The flag sizes are 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. Having lunch after visiting Central Museum. Then you will visit to Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments and of course Asian Bazaar. There you will find more about locals’ lifestyle and enjoy colorful goods, fruits and vegetables. We will see today the main highlights of Dushanbe and you will find out many interesting facts about Tajik people. Night is in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe – Khoburubot – Kalai Khum
You will drive to Kalai Khum village via mountain road. The road goes through Khoburubot Pass (3 252) known as Western Pamir Tract. On the way you will see impressive view to breathtaking river valley and amazing gorges in the terrain, where one can stop for rest and shoot photos of the mountain and rivers. Also you will meet local people. Tajik people are very friendly and kind hearted and hospitable. They are respect their traditions and folklore. This trip is good for those who like something new, curious about the ethnic and cultural differences. Night is in a hotel.
Day 3: Kalai Khum – Khorog
Morning transfer to Khorog that is considered to be one the smallest cities on the worlds map. This city is encircled by rocky mountains. This town was built in the merge of the 3 rivers where Shokhdara river and Ghund river flow into Pyanj river. While driving to the city you will meet Pamir people. Pamir people look a little bit different from Tajik. Among Pamir people there are a lot of those who have blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with human population after the Himalayas in Tibet. Life in the mountains made traditions of local people different from Tajik people. Dinner is in a restaurant. Night is in a guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog – Kalai Khum
You will return to Kakai Khum using the same road as you had before. Whole territory encircled with high mountains with the altitude above 6000 m. high that why it was possible to make just 1 road. While you driving back you will have opportunity not only enjoy the gorgeous beauty of the pristine nature but also learn more about the ethnography, history and everyday life of mountain dwellers and with this imagine how the history of humanity evolved as in the story of creation. Also you will have stop in small villages to meet and talk with locals to found out more about their traditions and lifestyle. There are settlements on the both sides of the river. On the other side you will be able to see Afgan stony villages and gardens. Night is in a hotel.
Day 5: Kalai Khum – Khoburubot – Dushanbe
You will drive to Dushanbe on the same road that you had before. Pamir Mountains had great influence on such major discoverer as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar.And now you cn also travel and discover it. After visiting Pamir Mountains travellers called this giant mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. Night is in a hotel.
Day 6: Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
Today you visit Hissor fortress of VII–XVII centuries. It was very walled area and citadel. It was the residence of Emir’s Bukhara delegation. It is located on the high hill and was well defended with 1 m thick walls and loopholes for guns and cannons. In the fortress you can find a pool and a garden and across from the fortress there was a busy market square with a caravan serai and shops. Not many sights survived to present time, Apart from the entrance gate with its two dignified towers. Other interesting sites in Hisar include: the recently restored monuments of “Madrasa I Kuhna” - new school of 16th-17th centuries; mosque; the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” of 16th century. After having lunch you will visit Botanical garden and Victory Park with a panorama view on the city. Night is in a hotel.
Day 7: Dushanbe – Airport
In the morning is transfer to airport.
