Tour 3: Long Tour
Duration: 9 days
In short: Tashkent – Samarkand – Gijduvan – Bukhara – Khiva – Urgench – Tashkent
Day 1: Tashkent
We are glad to see you travelling in Uzbekistan. When you arrive at Tashkent International Airport you will be met by the driver. He will drive you to the city. Today’s tour will pass by visiting the Independence Square which is dedicated to the victory over fascism during the World War II. After that we will drive to Broadway. It is situated near Independence Square and Amir Timur square. It is recommended visiting the famous Tashkent metro. Don’t miss to visit one of the most beautiful metro in the world was built in 1977. Later on we will visit old parts of the city as Chorsu Bazaar, Kukaldash Madrasah and Hast Imam consisting of madrasahs, mosques and mausoleum. After that you will visit Othman Quran. It is world’s oldest Quran found in the 8th century. You will have the night in the hotel.
Day 2: Tashkent – Samarkand
The tour will start by travelling to Samarkand by train. The beautiful Samarkand city is situated in the valley of the river Zerafshan and also it is the second largest city of Uzbekistan like Babylon or Rome. After that you will have the opportunity to visit wonderful sites as Registan square, Shakhi-Zindeh, Mausoleum Guri Emir and Bibi Khanum Mosque. So Registan Square is a very interesting place consisting three Madrasahs dating back to the 15th -17th centuries. We have no doubt you will be impressed by this heritage in your tours. Another site is Shakhi-Zindeh. It has a big collection of mausoleums found in the 11th-15th centuries, also included in UNESCO World Heritage List. Talking about Bibi Khanum Mosque, it was built for favorite Tamerlane’s wife, after his visit in India. The night will be spent in the hotel.
Day 3: Samarkand
We will continue to explore Samarkand city. The tour will go on visiting Ulughbek observatory (15th century). It is considered to be the famous Samarkand rulers as well as scientists. When Ulughbek worked in observatory, he created in 1437 the “Zidji Guragoni” catalog which included facts of 1018 celestial bodies, but later his was killed by his son. After that you will walk along the local Broadway and visit souvenir shops, teahouses, sweets and workshops. We recommend you to visit the National bazaar Siab (Oriental bazaar). You will be impressed by Uzbek traditional handmade products and local sweets. You can also find carpet handmade factory done by over 400 women. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 4: Samarkand – Gijduvan – Bukhara
The tour will start by driving to Bukhara city. You will have the break at Gijduvan village and visit the private pottery workshop. It is the famous Gijduvan ceramics school passed from father to son from generation to generation, also home for the sixth generation of potters from Narzullayevs family. We have no doubt you will be impressed by this place in tours in Kyrgyzstan. You will see it made in a geometric pattern colored in green and blue colors. Then we will move to Bukhara city where on the way you can visit memorial complex of Al Bukhary. In addition Al Bukhary is closely connected with Islamic scholar, who made the hadith collection known as Sahih al-Bukhari, observed by Sunni Muslims. When we arrive in Bukhara city you will spend the night in the hotel.
Day 5: Bukhara
The city tour is waiting for you. Visit the ancient Citadel Ark (4th century) in Bukhara. It connected several dynasties of Bukhara Empire. Later on you can visit Samanids mausoleum dating to the 9th and 10th century. Then you will drive to Chashma Ayub or Job's well and Bolo-Hauz mosque. The mosque is famous for its forty columns which are dedicated to Bukhara governor Abu-Fayud Khan. You will have the opportunity to walk around the shops and get the way to the madrasahs of Bukhara - Nodir Divan Begi. It belongs to Lyabi House Ensemble. After that we will visit the Poi Kalon complex and get inspiration of perfect view of architectural art in Bukhara. You will see it consisting of three structures which were built in the 12th and 16th centuries as Kalon minaret, Kalon mosque and Mir Arab Madrasah. Overnight will be spent in the hotel.
Day 6: Bukhara
We are glad to present a day of visiting wonderful area of Bukhara. The tour will start by visiting Bahauddin Naqshbandi complex. It is located near Bukhara. You will be impressed by sacred complex of famous Sufi Leader and Philosopher where Muslim people used to pilgrimage. Talking about Sheikh Bakhauddin Nakshbandi, it is one of spiritual friends of Amir Timur. You will find mosques of Kushbegi and Muzafarohana placed with courtyard with pool, madrasah, and burial vault of Bukhara rulers. There is Dakhma is situated on the top of Saint Bakhauddin Nakshbandi. After that we will drive to the castle of Bukhara Emirs - Sitorai Mohi Hosa complex. You will be impressed by various architectural styles. It is important to note that Emir named the castle for his wife who died young and called as “Star - like and moon- like Palace”. Later on you will drive to Sumiton village and get amaze of Chor Bakr memorial complex or Dead Town which was built during Samanids dynasty (16th century). This night will be spent in the hotel.
Day 7: Bukhara – Khiva
Today we will travel to Khiva. Being there you will find more than 140 architectural monuments dating back to the Middle Ages. There are green avenues, parks, avenues and other outstanding streets. All of them are connected with each other. You will pass from Khiva to Bukhara among the famous Kizilkum desert. On the route you will be impressed by the interesting view to Amu Darya river and the deepest river in Central Asia which is formed by the convergence of the Panj and Vakhsh in Tajikistan. It flows into Aral Sea. Afterwards you will have a break in Khiva and have the night in the hotel.
Day 8: Khiva – Urgench – Tashkent
We are happy to present the city tour in Khiva. It is the wonderful city of best sites and highlights in Uzbekistan. You will find it inside of Ichan-Qala where the inner city in Khiva is made up by well-made walls. Being there you will see s old sound buildings, palaces, mosques, Madrasahs, Mausoleums, Minarets, Caravan-Sarais and Bathhouses which is shaped Ichan-Qala into unique city-monument. Ichan-Qala has over 400 traditional dwelling houses as well as 60 architectural monuments. It is important to note that in 1969 Ichan-Qala was built a historical and architectural conservation area. The most outstanding sites are the Kunya-Ark fortress (17th century) was found by Muhammad Arang Khan, the Kalta Minor minaret as well as the Tash Khouvli palace. All of them are the unique masterpiece of 1830s. In the evening you will have the flight to Tashkent. Overnight will be spent in the hotel.
Day 9: Tashkent – Flight
Breakfast will be in the hotel and then transfer to the airport for the next destination.
