Tour 4: Travel to big cities and national parks of Kazakhstan
Duration: 5 days
In short: Nur- Sultan – Borovoye – Nur- Sultan – Almaty – Issyk Lake – Almaty
Day 1: Nur- Sultan
Your driver will welcome you and travel to the city. You will start you city tour from Constitution Square. It is the place where N.A.Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan declared the change of the capital from Almaty to Astana. Then the Presidential Centre of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan will open its doors. You will have an opportunity to see the Golden Man, the most valuable archeological heritage of Central Asia. Next stop will be at the Khan Shatyr. It is an extraordinary architectural work and largest shopping center. Here you will understand the city’s life better. Later you take a lift to reach the top of monumental tower “Astana-Baiterek”. This observation deck opens the greatest view to the city. After lunch at local restaurant, you will visit Kazakh Eli Square via the bridge on Ishym River. Nur Sultan boasts with its modern architectural monuments, one of them is the Palace of Peace and Accord. Later it is worth to see the glorious beauty of the Khazret Sultan mosque. Today’s excursion will end at the Palace of Independence, where the far-reaching plans and history of Nur Sultan exhibited. Night in a hotel.
Day 2: Nur- Sultan – Borovoye – Nur- Sultan
Today at 9 a.m., your driver and guide will pick up you from hotel. It will be a day trip to Burabai National park (Borovoe). It is the biggest park close to the capital, the total are of the park is 85000 hectares. Burabai lies on the northeast part of Kokshetau elevation. It has a wonderful landscape with 14 big lakes and many small lakes. We will drive about 270 km to reach the resort area. En route, you will enjoy the story of your guide about the area’s history, culture and economy. Upon arrival, you will see Khan’s pass and "Burabay" mountain. Later in Abylaykhan Valley, there will be incredible view of Ush-kyz”, “Ok-Zhetpes”, “Zhumbaktas” rocks and “Kokshetau” mountain. You guide will tell you a story about each mountain, where you can also derive the history and culture of Kazakh people. After lunch at local restaurant, you can have free time to look and walk around. Then, you will travel to take a short hike to Bolektau” mountain, where there is a stunning view of famous “Borovoe” lake. Tour to Borovoe make you relax both physically and psychologically. Fresh air, evergreen trees, magnificent lakes and majestic mountains are the best therapy to have a rest. Drive back to the city and stay in a hotel.
Day 3: Nur- Sultan – Almaty
Take morning flight to Almaty, the southern capital of Kazakhstan. You will start you city tour from blooming Green Bazaar. From the entrance, you will be welcomes by kind seller offering you to taste fresh juicy fruits. Later continue to the city’s famous park- Panfilov Park. In the center, you will come across the beautiful building of Zenkov Cathedral, dating back to the end of 19th century. It is listed on the wooden wonders of the world. It will charm you with its beauty. After exploring the city, you will drive to the Medeo Gorge, where the highest mountain outdoor skating rink is located. During the Soviet time, several records of speed skating were beaten on this rink. Further up the gorge there is a ski resort Shymbulak, popular for city residents during the winter time. The last point of the day will be Kok-Tobe hill, where you will be surprised by the panoramic view to the whole city. TV tower on the top of the hill considered to be the highest in the world (if to count from the sea level). You can find nice national souvenirs in the small boutiques or have a walk. On the way to the city take a cableway. Night in a hotel.
Day 4: Almaty – Issyk Lake – Almaty
Today will be dedicated to the day travel to Issyk Gorge in the Trans-Ili Alatau, it located along the Kuldja tract. Thousands of years ago these land was one of the ways of Great Silk Road. En route, we will visit the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “ISSYK”. This museum is rich in the history of Saka-Scythisan tribe - the first nomadic tribe in the Central Asian territory. It is possible to see the copy of the Golden Man, famous in Kazakhstan. Other valuable artefacts from this area: golden items, ancient ceramics pots, weapon, elements of horse equipment, the model of Saka burial mound. Further, you will drive to mountain Lake Issyk in the gorge with the same name. This lake has incredible color of turquoise. Issyk Lake is located at the altitude of 1756m. The origin of the lake goes to 10 000 years ago, when due to the natural landslide formed natural dam to block the water. You can learn more about natural disasters happened during 1963 from your guide. We will make a picnic at the lake and fully enjoy the time in the arms of the nature. After return back to Almaty and rest in a hotel.
