Chon Kemin Valley

The Chon-Kemin gorge is located 140 kilometers from Bishkek, the journey there takes about one and a half to two hours. The nature here is simply beautiful - there are mountain rivers, forest, small villages in the gorge. This is a great opportunity to spend a day in the middle of the Kyrgyz Range, enjoy magnificent views of nature! If you go here in the summer, you can come across yurts: shepherds live there.

Here we will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the Kyrgyz way of life, traditions and culture in the guesthouse, which was built in the national style. Here we learn how to cook national bread - boorsok; try national dishes such as besharmak, pilaf, manti and drink the national drinks.

Then we ride horses to get closer to nature. After all, horses in the life of the Kyrgyz took an essential part - both in the nomadic lifestyle and in warfare. The walk itself takes about 3 hours. Another kind of entertainment in the gorge is not for the faint of heart - rafting in the Chon Kemin River. The length of the Chon-Kemin River is 116 km. One of the most popular types of recreation in Kyrgyzstan is trekking. Since the largest part of Kyrgyzstan is covered in mountains, interesting hiking trails for trekking, of course, take place in the amazing mountains.

Well, in winter in Chon Kemin we get a unique opportunity to ride a sled. This type of outdoor activity is an excellent pastime for the whole family. Believe me, sledding will not make you bored and will please the whole family in Kyrgyzstan travel.
