Cholpon
Hi, friends!
My name is Cholpon. I grew up in a small town of Naryn in the south-eastern part of Kyrgyzstan. From the early ages my passion was to travel and discover new places. I enjoyed showing around to my friends and teachers who came from abroad to teach English. Further I entered the University to study linguistics but to connect my life with tourism it was not enough. Therefore I went through special courses of guiding by local mentors in Bishkek who run tourist agencies. This is how I got involved into this world of adventures and new experiences.

The wonderful Ala Archa gorge is situated on a spur of the Tien Shan mountain range. The distance is 45 km from Bishkek. You will have the opportunity for a short hiking tour in order to see a panoramic view of the gorge. Then we will return to Bishkek. The night will be spent in hotel.

The day will start by spending time in the Asian Bazaar. Being there you will have the chance to find everything you want. Don’t miss bargaining there! You can enjoy noisy and colorful bazaar. Being there you will learn more about the Great Silk Road. Also Burana Tower was a sign for travelers who used to cross the Great Silk Road. There is an open air museum of Balbals (stone warriors). They are dedicated for soldiers who lost their lives protecting Motherland. Overnight is in a home stay.

After a hearty breakfast we will drive to the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan – Son Kul Lake via 33 parrots pass. This magnificent lake is surrounded by mountains and considered to be the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan. The lake is situated at an altitude of 3013 meters above sea level. Being there you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with nomads and wall along green valleys. Another fact is that herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. We have no doubt you will like to explore and enjoy the virgin nature of the lake and its surroundings. Your dinner and overnight for today will be done in nomadic felt dwellings − yurts.
Day 4: Son Kul Lake – Kochkor – Bishkek
