Tour 3: Fire fortresses Tour
Duration: 8 days
In short: Ashgabat – Kow Ata – Nokhur – Balkanabat – Yangikala – Gozli Ata – Turkmenbashi – Ashgabat – Darwaza – Mary – Ashgabat
Day 1: Ashgabat
Your tour guide will meet youг with signboard “HD Travel Agency” written on it. Drive you to the hotel for checking – in. After it you will the place under UNESCO Heritage- Old Nisa that was capital of Parthian Empire and the late president’s Mausoleum and “Gypjak” Mosque. The rest of the day will be city tour. First of all you are going to visit the main attractions of the capital – parks and monuments and other important buildings. Night is in hotel.
Day 2: Ashgabat – Kow Ata – Nokhur – Balkanabat
First tour from Ashgabat is subterranean lake- Kow-Ata, which meaning is Father of caves. At first glance, this subterranean zone looks like alluring lyceum water has invariable temperature of 33-37 ° C because of it you can swim there. The village with the name Nokhur represents itself as a gloomy valley in the mountains of the Kopet Dag Range, with the houses made of cement and mud. With the exception of the main street passing through the city center, the streets are so narrow that they simply fit the car between the high stone retaining walls on each side. They live in several villages in the mountainous border zone envelop Turkmenistan and Iran. Then continue our way to the Balkanabad city.
Day 3: Balkanabat – Yangikala – Gozli Ata – Turkmenbashi
You will see not only lakes and mountains but also canyons. Yangikala canyons- locate 165 km to the north from Balkanabat and 160 km to the east from Turkmenbashi. Yangikala means “fire fortresses” and it’s true for these canyons the sheer cliffs of white, yellow, ocher, purple and red colors, fancily carved by winds and rains are very similar to the stone castles from dreams. During the sunset you can see a breathtaking view of interaction of red- hot color with the sun. At first bottom of the canyons was the bottom of an ancient sea and now you can walk there and enjoy the beauty of natural made park full of sculptures from compressed soil. You can climb the colorful hills but you cannot hold buttresses. One of the most remote pilgrimage sites in Turkmenistan is Gozli Ata. Drive to Turkmenbashi.
Day 4: Turkmenbashi – Ashgabat – Darwaza
Breakfast you will have at the hotel. Then you are going to have short flight to Ashgabad at 10:30/11:30. Then we will continue our travel for visiting Erbent village and to Cas Crater- Darwaza. In Cas Crater- Darwaza you will be able soak in the beauty and uniqueness of the crater at daylight and at night, enjoy the heat and soundof the wind and crater itself. Dinner in BBQ style. During the night you will sleep in tents.
Day 5: Darwaza – Kunya Urgench – Ashgabat
Driver will pick you to Kone-Urgench after breakfast at Darwaza. The road will take 261 km and 4:35 min. Kone-Urgench that started to be under protection of UNESKO, was ancient capital of Khorezm. Then you will visit mausoleums of II Arslan and SoltanTekesh, Nejmeddin Kubra, Soltan Ali, Turabek –Khanum dated back to12th c, minaret of KutlugTimur, Mamun II. Then the flight to Ashgabad at 16:20/17:10 (time of flight can be changed). Drive to hotel in Ashgabat and rest time for you.
Day 6: Ashgabat – Mary
After the breakfast at Ashkabat you will see Mary city where city tour will wait you and of course visiting Historical Museum. After busy day you will have a rest time.
Day 7: Mary – Merv – Ashgabat
Mery- UNESKO World Heritage Site one of the main sights of Central Asia that had played important part of developing Silk Road. The magnificent Mausoleums of the Sultan of Sanjar and Muhammad Ibn-Zeid dated back to XII century, showing refined brickwork and architectural decor. Drive back to Ashgabat and there we will go to Russian bazaar – where you can buy souvenirs Then visit one of the most wonderful Muslim mosque in Turkmenistan - Ertugrul Gazi. It was named in honor of the father of Osman Empire’s first ruler.
