Tour 1: Fortress Tour

In short: Dushanbe – Hissor – Iskanderkul Lake – Penjakent – Dushanbe

Day 1: Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
On arrival in the airport you will be met by the driver who accompanies you to Dushanbe. Today you will have the guided tour where you can visit the Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. In addition you will have the opportunity to visit National park and make a lot of interesting photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world of 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. Then you can travel to Central Museum (35 km) to visit Hisor fortress (VII–XVII centuries). Before this fortress was the residence of the delegate of the Emir of Bukhara which located on a high hill and with 1 m thick walls and loopholes for guns and cannons. There was a pool and a garden as well as busy market square with a caravan serai and shops. In the tour you will see two imposing tower. Visit Hisar site and see monuments of “Madrasa I Kuhna” (16th -17tth centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” (16th century). Afterwards you will return to Dushanbe. The night will be spent in a hotel. 

Day 2: Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake
The tour will start by driving to high Mountain lake – Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). You will find it situated in the famous Fann Mountains. We have no doubt you will be impressed by of Central Asia. You will drive through Anzob pass (3 372 m) and see one of the best panoramic views. In addition you will see sandy beaches. If you want to see a waterfall, spend 40 minutes and try this chance.  It is important to note that Tajikistan is defined to be the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources which has the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Overnight will be spent in a guesthouse.

Day 3: Iskanderkul – Penjakent
We are glad to present the next day where you can try your hiking skills at Fann Mountains. Fann mountains are also known as "Kuhistan" from Farsi means (Mountainous Country). You will find more than 30 pure and variegated lakes of different size and shape. Tourists like to visit Fann Mountains!  You will have the opportunity to have trekking and climbing destination. The fauna and flora of this place is unique. We are sure you will be in love! In the afternoon we will drive to Penjakent. Your night is in a local guesthouse.

Day 4: Penjakent – Dushanbe
Talking about The city of Penjakent which means ("five villages"), you will find it located in Khujand area of Tajikistan in a scenic Zeravshan river valley. It is important to note that the five villages started the history of this remarkable city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Being in Penjikent you will see the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd named as "Central Asian Pompeii". You will find there well-organized city with a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. No doubt you will be impressed by them in tours. But ruins of this ancient city were found only in the last century. Nowadays travellers can see remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, fire worshiper’s church and many others. Return back to Dushanbe. Overnight is in the hotel.
