Tour 2: 7 lakes Tour
Duration: 7 days
In short: Dushanbe – Hissor – Iskanderkul Lake – Penjakent – Seven lakes – Khujand – Dushanbe
Day 1: Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
Driver will pick you at the Airport to Dushanbe. City tour will take the whole day and first place to visit will be Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. After the entertaining photo stop at the in National park to take pictures of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world – 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. You will go to the Hisor fortress but at first you will visit Central Museum. The Hisor fortress is dating back 7th -17th centuries. It used to be a residence of the delegate of Amir Bukhara. The interesting thing here is its location. It was located on a high hill had a wal 1m thick with holes for the guns and cannons. The area inside the fortress had a lot of unusual things such a pool and beautiful and colorful gardens, busy and noisy market with shops and caravan serai. Unfortunately just entrance gate with two impressive towers preserved of this beautiful and imposing fortress. And you can visit other interesting sights such as mosque that was lately rehabilitated - “Madrasa I Kuhna” that dated back 16th – 17th century; the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” dated back 16th. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake
Our next place of destination is alpine lake Iskander with the altitude 2 255 meters above sea level. It is located in the well- known Fann Mountains. It’s one of the most beautiful and breathtaking places of Central Asia. The road leads through Anzob pass (3 372 m) and has incredible and picturesque panorama view. On the lake you can take a walk on the beach . Looking to such amazing view you can rest your body and calm your soul. Then you hike to see a waterfall. Tajikistan is country that has a lot of water resources among the CIS countries. Tajikistan takes second place among them and has a the highest water reserves, more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8 000 glaciers. Night you will spend in a guest house.
Day 3: Iskanderkul – Penjakent
The Penjakent (“five villages”) is your next stop it lays in the Khujand area of Tajikistan in a attractive and colorful Zeravshan river valley. It’s possible that the five villages began to make its history because of this attractive city that was in the 5th -8th centuries AD. This city was one of significant cultural and craft center of Sogd. It was perfectly hardened and well established city and had ruler’s palace two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses adorned with a lot of paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. Due to some circumstance these ruins were found just in the previous century. But now people and tourist can see the previous beauty and such buildings as houses and offices, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshipers’ church. Night is in a local guesthouse.
Day 4: Penjakent – Seven lakes – Penjakent
Today you are going to hike in one of the most popular hiking places in Central Asia. After that you will go from Panjakent to About 60 km to south where Marquzor Lake or Seven Lake situated. You will have time to hike through the gorge to the Seven’s Lakes lay. Interesting part here is they situated on the different levels with dissimilar colors. Local people live there and it would be good opportunity to communicate with them and find more about Tajikistan’s culture and customs, and their way living. Guesthouse is place for night.
Day 5: Penjakent – Khujand
Khujand is the place where you will goand here some information about it: at the estuary of the Fergana valley where Syr Darya River flows lays the second largest city in Tajikistan with the population of 149,000. Now this place also calls Sughd. Khujand is the capital of the northern. This city has a Cultural Palace and it famous for the first president that was chosen here. The city center is noteworthy for its Central Mosque. During the night you will be in a hotel.
Day 6: Khujand – Dushanbe
Today you will go back to Dushanbe through the Anzob pass with its altitude 3 372 meters and Isticlol tunnel. Famous Fann Mountais also were known for its beauty and uniqueness even in ancient times as “Kuhistan” - "Mountainous Country". In spite of the not very big area in Fann Mountains more than 30 lakes with different size and form that’s why this area is very good for trekking and hiking. Flora and fauna here are rich and has variety of them. On the mountain passes you will have a chance to take photos because of the photo stops. Night you will spend in the hotel.
Day 7: Dushanbe – Airport
